“What the Fearless Critic books and apps have that UrbanSpoon and Yelp don’t is a complete lack of bullshit.”
“I’ve spent years driving around with Zagat...but I think I’ll replace it with this Fearless Critic guide.”

Trio
This Four Seasons restaurant’s renowned as one of the best wine bars in town

In the past, Trio’s made some fun fodder

For those jokes ’bout a rip-off marauder;

Though the food’s still a “tsk,” we should avoid the risk

Of babies thrown out with the bathwater.

Most dishes aren’t worth trying twice,

But the wine program’s awfully nice;

Its markups are valid (unlike that dumb salad

that’s not worth even half of its price).

The reason to come, we insist,

Is for one of the city’s best lists:

It’s damn well designed, and there’s nary a wine

That tastes extracted or full of oak chips.

It’s rare that we suggest a flight.

But these folks know when wine’s not quite right.

Study Colheita, crack open Auslese,

And the somm’s your best friend for the night.

Hotel restaurants all have their station

(Mostly to rob you while on vacation),

There’s no other bar that goes nearly as far

To give you a grape education.
