UW students love their cheap Indian lunch buffets, and Bengal Tiger’s is the best in the neighborhood—and one of the cheapest, too.
But this isn’t just a feeding trough for broke underclassmen. It also gets high marks for dinner, when you can puzzle over a vast array of curries which could, however, benefit from a bit of editing. Butter chicken is a favorite, but after years of regular visits our panel can safely say that nothing really disappoints. A few fun extras are a good beer list, which has both the typical domestic and Pacific Northwest beers plus a nice selection of Indian beers, and better-than-average desserts (particularly anything made with mango).
The décor is a little dated—the carpet is dreadful and hopefully not reflective of the cleanliness of the kitchen—and there are too many reviews of the restaurant plastered everywhere. But the friendly staff makes dining here pleasant enough.
