“What the Fearless Critic books and apps have that UrbanSpoon and Yelp don’t is a complete lack of bullshit.”
“I’ve spent years driving around with Zagat...but I think I’ll replace it with this Fearless Critic guide.”

Mulleady’s
A surprisingly sophisticated gastro-menu takes this Irish local to the next level

Mulleady’s is an Irish pub with gastropub-like aspirations. Sure, there are Irish favorites like lamb stew, shepherd’s pie, and Irish knockers (those would-be Colcannon mashers with hard cider beurre blanc). But, more interestingly, you can also find specials like cider-braised pork belly with apricot and cabbage tart.

Get past all the Irish offerings, and at the bottom of the menu you’ll find the Mulleady’s burger—the big reason why many dine here regularly. It comes with a healthy portion of fries, though note you can also get a separate order of fries, complete with three sauces. Service can be a tad slow, but simply another reason to sit back, enjoy your beer, and contemplate the next.

Decent food and decent drinks make this a desirable neighborhood hangout. There’s a friendly feel with a cozy fireplace up front. Good music reliably plays, sometimes live, and Mulleady’s also hosts trivia nights.

Oh…and might we mention that there’s a lounge-sized urinal in the men’s bathroom? Good information if you’re a guy who’s doing a good amount of drinking.
