Website www.santaema.clOverview Santa Ema proudly broadcasts its
status as a mega-winery: it’s one of
the largest Chilean wineries, it
exports to more than 30 countries,
and it’s reliably one of the top 10
sellers in the US. None of which
would give us much confidence in
the actual quality of the wine if it
weren’t for the fact that Santa Ema
turns out consistent winners. For two
years in a row, both the Chardonnay
and Sauvignon Blanc have been hits
with our blind tasters, proving that
it’s possible to be the biggest and
one of the best, too.
Nose Those grassy, cabbagey aromas
mark it as a Sauv Blanc from miles
away.
Mouth There’s tons of tart acidity,
along with continuing vegetal
flavors—very classic and very
delicious.
