Vintage tasted 2009 Grapes Sauvignon Blanc

Overview New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc has a very distinctive profile, and this one has every characteristic there is: tropical fruit, check; vegetable flavors, check; refreshingly sharp acidity, check. If you like that general profile, you’ll love this wine. On the other hand, Kiwi haters should definitely beware—this is not for any half-hearted Sauv Blanc drinkers. If you’re not sure which camp you fall in, have a glass of this: you’ll quickly find out.

Nose Our blind tasters found plenty of those aforementioned tropical fruits and “cat pee.”

Mouth There’s still fruit here, but it’s balanced by a distinctly grassy, vegetal note that can be off-putting for some drinkers.
