Overview Victory Brewing Company was
founded in 1996 in a former
Pepperidge Farm bakery, and since
has grown steadily from a smalltown
brewpub to a nationally
distributed craft brewery. It
produces a wide range of
American-, Belgian-, and German-styled
beers, but the best known
are the trio of beers reviewed here.
Flavors and aromas Victory’s hop
profile is unmistakable; while they
claim to use American hops for
Hop Devil and Continental hops
for Prima Pils, both have a
similar—and hard to miss—fresh,
dry character to the nose. Balance
is clearly not the goal here, but this
is a fine example of a successful,
powerfully hoppy brew, with
ample fresh floral/citrus hops filling
in for malt body.
