Overview Big Sky’s lineup of generally English-styled beers was apparently chosen early on as a way to avoid direct competition with Montana’s other Missoula-based brewery, the German-styled Bayern Brewery. That kind of cooperation seems to be the norm among microbreweries.

Flavors and aromas An intense citrus hop character jumps from the glass here, with focused grapefruit and orange tea aromas. Big bitterness is tempered only slightly by light malt presence with big flavor hops. Balanced? Not remotely, but if you’ve got a taste for big hops, this IPA has a unique and impressive flavor profile.
