Overview Despite being smack in the middle of Sonoma’s wine country, Lagunitas has probably done as much as anyone to put their hometown of Petaluma on the map. And what fun a visit to this facility is: it starts with a tasting of their beers, then leads into a hazy tour.

Flavors and aromas A powerful, hop-driven IPA that makes up in volume what it lacks in subtlety. Big, pungent, slightly resinous hops lead into a beer that is crisp at first, with ample bitterness, but the palate-coating body gets a little sticky after a few sips. There’s always the potential for this kind of beer to come off as unbalanced, and some of our tasters wanted more dry malt character, while others thought this was a fantastic IPA.
