Overview St. Pauli Girl is a northern German
beer brand owned, like many
international pale lagers, by AB
InBev. Despite being notable for
the cartoon of a busty beer wench
on the label and the annual
selection of a real-life model to
serve as the St. Pauli Girl in poster
campaigns, the brewery in Bremen
is about as far as one can get from
Oktoberfest without exiting
Germany, both physically and
stylistically.
Flavors and aromas We liked St.
Pauli more than most of the
internationally styled light lagers,
noting a discernible noble hop
character on the nose and a softly
lingering bitterness. This beer has
malt character without coming
across as sweet, which is sadly rare
in this style of beer.
