Overview Bitburger is nearing its second full century of operations, having opened in 1817. In Germany, several unique variations on their pale lager are sold, including a pomegranate-flavored lager and a rum-and-coke flavored lager.

Flavors and aromas A lightly malty beer with a low hop aroma, our bottles of Bitburger were slightly—but not badly—lightstruck. This beer is firmly German, with moderate but focused bitterness as the center of attention. There’s bright carbonation, which helps frame the bitterness and provides a crisp finish with some lingering hops. Light bodied and very clean.
