Overview Miller Lite was the first light-as-in-low-calories beer, and ushered us all into a new world where drinking thin, low-calorie beers was a sign of macho virility—an age that continues to this day, if the Super Bowl is any indication. While you may have mixed feelings about the conscious misspelling of the name, you’ll probably admit that it’s better than the original: Gablinger’s Diet Beer.

Flavors and aromas Yeast esters dominate what little there is to the nose of this beer—one taster identified bubblegum, another banana—in an otherwise unremarkable light lager with a slight touch of bitterness. In a style that’s all about showing off clean and refreshing flavors, the esters were out of place and off-putting.
