Overview Anheuser-Busch makes a tremendous number of lagers that are variations on the same few themes, but Michelob stands out by virtue of its all-barley grain bill. This is also the label under which AB brewers make a number of almost-craft ales and lagers.

Flavors and aromas It might be some work to convince our panel that this beer truly is “ultra-premium,” but that’s not to say that it was without appeal. A light nose is slightly sweet, as is the palate, but gentle carbonation and mild hop bitterness elevate this into a pleasant state of balance. It’s a surprisingly subtle brew that has more in common with Czechvar than Budweiser.
