Overview Iron City is, unsurprisingly, a Pittsburgh beer, though production has recently been moved to the old Rolling Rock brewery in Latrobe. Iron City Brewing produces a significant number of inexpensive regional brands (like the appealingly named Totally Dirt Cheap Beer), but the flagship brand, nearly 150 years old, endures.

Flavors and aromas Iron City Beer has all the hallmarks of an American-style pale lager: it’s lightly hopped, lacking in bitterness, and fairly sweet. Our panel found it to be an acceptable drink, if undistinguished. The distinctive glass bottle might tip us to this over similarly priced offerings, but we wouldn’t particularly bother seeking it out.
