Overview Oskar Blues was originally a brewpub and blues club—well, it still is—and we wonder how they got by until 2009 serving barbecue without an easy-drinking pilsner to seal the deal.

Flavors and aromas This starts off promising, with good hop aroma and light malt, but there’s a touch of skunkiness that in theory has no place in a canned beer. A smooth mouthfeel, slightly creamy, has a light body with a bit of hop flavor and modest bitterness that lingers into the finish. In short, it’s a domestic lager—in a can, no less—that aspires to European ideals without pushing too hard.
