Overview A perennial Wine Trialsfavorite, Domaine Ste. Michelle beat the competition for the third year running in this year’s blind tastings. Why? Well, it’s made in the traditional method of Champagne, and the grapes are from Washington’s Columbia Valley, whose climate is similar to that of the Champagne region in France. However, the style is fresher, lighter, and more approachable than Champagne. Best of all, you’re not paying for millions of dollars in glossy magazine ads featuring scantily clad supermodels.

Nose Most of our blind tasters commented on the unmistakable scent of crisp apples, with some even comparing it to apple pie.

Mouth The wine is delicate and balanced, with plenty of acidity and refreshing carbonation to counter the lush apple taste.
