Overview Great values are coming out of Spain, and Cavas are some of the best: they’re sold for a fraction of the price of their similarly made counterparts in Champagne. This bottle, the upscale cousin of last year’s Segura Viudas winner, is fairly subtle for an inexpensive Cava. It refuses to hog the spotlight with intense acidity or bold flavors; instead, it goes for simplicity and food friendliness—something we definitely appreciate.
Nose Classic Cava apple mingles with an interesting mineral note—wonderful.
Mouth There’s subtle apple that could afford to be a bit stronger— our blind tasters wanted a bit more acidity.
