Website www.francoislurton.comOverview You might not know it by the
exorbitant prices of Bordeaux,
Burgundy, and Champagne, but
France can be an impressive country
for value wine. Lesser-known regions
such as the Languedoc can rival even
Spain and Portugal in quality-to-price
ratio. This Sauvignon Blanc (Fumé
Blanc is an alternate name for the
grape), comes from Gers, an obscure
region in the southwest of France. It’s
a great example of how exciting
these as-yet-relatively-unknown
regions can be.
Nose With a nice balance between
vegetal, floral, grassy, and fruit
(especially melon) aromas, this wine
has something for everyone.
Mouth More of the same here,
along with an acidity that’s refreshing
but not overpowering. This would be
an ideal summer sipper.
