Grapes Albariño
Website www.condesdealbarei.comOverview Based on our recent encounters at
restaurants and wine stores, Spanish
Albariño seems to be coming into its
own. We couldn’t be happier. This
grape (known as Alvarinho across the
Portuguese border) makes
wonderfully fresh food wines that
we’ll happily drink with a huge
variety of dishes. This bottle is
especially aromatic and fruity, which
will help its crowd appeal, yet it
retains impressive acid and freshness.
Nose Tropical fruit, oranges, roses,
peach, and apricot combine to form
a lively nose.
Mouth The same fruity and floral
flavors continue, joined by bright
acidity that keeps the wine from
seeming cloying and helps it pair
with food.
