Overview Located in Austria’s beautiful Wachau Valley and overlooking the Danube, Domäne Wachau occupies an enviable piece of land. The wines coming from this producer are wonderful, serving as fitting ambassadors for their still somewhat unknown region. Since last year, when the previous vintage of this wine was a Wine Trials selection, Grüner Veltliner has made significant strides in popularity: while it’s been a favorite of wine geeks for years, the grape is now appearing on down- scale restaurant wine lists and corner liquor stores.

Nose It’s faint—one could say delicate—and floral, with a layer of citrus underneath.

Mouth A subtle melon flavor works well with the wine’s near- effervescence and crisp acidity.
