Website www.aime-roquesante.comOverview We always take it as a good sign
when a French wine producer’s
website is only in French; it suggests
that concern for marketing (at least
across the Atlantic) isn’t trumping
winemaking. That focus shows: for
one thing, this wine is the pale
salmon color we like in a rosé, rather
than the terrifying neon pink of
some wines we tasted. More
importantly, the Roquesante
manages to balance delicious fruit
with refreshing acidity like only a
Provençal rosé can. Just try to drink it
without imagining Mediterranean
beaches. We dare you.
Nose It’s a light, fresh strawberry—in
marked contrast to the synthetic
strawberry quality many lesser wines
exhibit.
Mouth It’s full in the mouth, but the
sharp acidity makes it feel lean and
refreshing.
