Website www.belleruchewines.comOverview M. Chapoutier has pulled a hat trick,
managing to wow tasters with his
white, red, and rosé, all in the same
year. While we ultimately favor the
lighter, more austere, and acidic
Provence style of rosé, if you’re a
rosé novice, this might be a good
point of entry without the cloying
fruit of many New World rosés. Filled
with red fruit, this one has a quality
that prompted one of our blind
tasters to call it “surprisingly wine-y.”
Of course all rosés are wines, but a
rich berry flavor and full mouthfeel
make this seem more like a light red
wine than most.
Nose Our blind tasters were shocked
at just how rich the red fruit was, but
they certainly weren’t complaining.
Mouth A bit of raspberry here, with
some acid to liven things up; some of
our tasters wished there were even
more zip, though.
