Overview Our answer to the proverbial what-
would-you-want-with-you-on-a-
desert-island question just might be
a good French rosé. With more
oomph than your average white, but
not the heaviness of your average
red, they’re just about right for
prolonged periods of imbibing in the
sun. And the color is a delight on its
own: the pale salmon pink of a good
rosé looks almost as refreshing as it
tastes.
Nose A hint of mashed strawberry is
a refreshing whiff, and there’s an
aroma of flowers that is lovely and
not cloying.
Mouth Big savory aromas don’t
tread lightly, but you won’t mind
that. A decent burst of acid
counterbalances nicely the bright,
fresh, young fruit aromas. Now
where’s our beach house already?
