Grapes Pinot Gris
Website www.jlwolf.comOverview Yes, Pinot Gris is the same grape as
Pinot Grigio, but the choice of the
Francophone name often signals a
more restrained style. This one is
certainly true to type, with floral
aromas and great balance. It comes
from the Pfalz region of Germany (as
does the Pölka Dot Riesling), though
it lacks some of the acidity that
makes many German wines so
exciting.
Nose It’s faint (we’d say restrained)
and floral.
Mouth It’s almost prickly in the
mouth, with peach and lemon
flavors and mouthwatering acid.
