Principessa Gavia

Style Light white Old World Country Italy Price $14
Vintage tasted 2008 Grapes Cortese

Overview The fairytale love story on the back of the bottle, which begins “Once upon a time…there lived a young princess named Gavia,” is too saccharine to be believed. Do they really think this is what female drinkers want? We won’t spoil the ending, but it’s worth buying the bottle not to get the rest of the story, but for what’s inside, which is considerably more exciting, with delicious fruit and bright acid.

Nose Clean aromas of apple, pear, and citrus dominate.

Mouth Our blind tasters loved the acidity, which lifts the wine above the horde of mediocre Italian whites.
