Overview Stone Brewing’s most famous—and brash—beer has perhaps the most comprehensive and audacious branding campaign in the beer world. A trip through the beer’s website, or a quick reading of the text on the bottle, encourages drinkers to move on to lighter, easier beers—the idea being to dare you into drinking this high-alcohol blockbuster.

Flavors and aromas Cinnamon-spice and caramel malt drive the big, attractive nose with mild hops. The palate is big, opening with a shock of sweetness that quickly fades to an onslaught of bitterness and spice. Citrusy hop flavors mingle with mild esters in the finish, but spice, malt, and bitterness maintain high intensity. Alcohol is clearly high here but doesn’t really register.
