Overview About a decade ago, Boont Amber was the go-to tap at many bars, both upscale and divey, in San Francisco. All too often, growing brands and evolving tastes mean that the beers of our youth don’t hold up quite as we remember them. We’re pleased to see that’s not the case here. This beer is ubiquitous in the northern half of California; from Eureka to San Jose, it’s never hard to find a bar serving Boont Amber.

Flavors and aromas The star of Anderson Valley’s lineup is an appealingly malty take on on American Pale ale, which makes it easy to recommend to drinkers looking for flavor intensity without excess bitterness. There’s a fruitiness that reminds us of Oktoberfest beers, but the palate is dry and balanced, with just enough bitterness to make it crisp.
