Grapes Zinfandel
Website www.boglewinery.comOverview Zinfandel is a pretty divisive grape; its
manifestations can be too
concentrated, fruity, and in-your-face
for many drinkers. But if big, plush
wines are your thing, the Bogle is a
totally honest version (and has been
for three years running). It’s a classic
California expression of the grape,
with highly concentrated fruit, a
touch of sweetness, and plenty of
oak. But Bogle’s Zin, at 14% alcohol,
is very weak as far as New World
incarnations of this grape go.
Nose It’s got the big berry nose
you’d expect (with lots of juicy black
cherry), but there are also aromas of
green pepper and even barnyard to
add complexity.
Mouth It’s definitely big, with a soft,
round feel and a big juicy finish.
