Website www.alamoswines.comOverview Back for an impressive third time, this
crowd-pleasing Argentine Malbec
marries rich fruit flavors with dark,
earthy notes. The winery states that
its team “aims to make wines that
are as good as wines twice their
price,” something at which we think
they’ve succeeded admirably. That
might be due in part to their use of a
double manual selection process
(they go through the grapes twice) to
make sure only good ones make it in.
That work is time consuming and
expensive, but it’s definitely reflected
in this excellent wine.
Nose The rich red fruit, berries, and
earthiness are evocative. One taster
detected some sulfur, though.
Mouth It’s silky and elegant, with
impressive structure and balance.
Our blind tasters were particularly
fond of the bold, velvety fruit flavors.
