Website www.blackboxwines.comOverview Put your snobbery aside: boxed wine has many advantages,
including larger volume and lower production costs, and vacuum
sealed bags mean that you can keep the wine open for days or
even weeks without significant loss of flavor. Still, we can’t quite
imagine keeping a big box of wine on the table for our next dinner
party, especially one that looks like this. But we’re working on
it—the buzz is that box wines are the next big thing in the industry,
so we’ll have to adjust. And as this simple, fruity Cabernet shows,
good wines can come in square packages.
Nose The ripe, almost cooked fruit and vegetal aromas were
somewhat divisive, but many blind tasters did appreciate the hint of
pepper.
Mouth It’s quite soft, with
lingering jammy fruit and more
pepper.
