Overview When they say this is a mélange, they aren’t kidding: the blend includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Franc. It’s not often you see the Bordeaux-based Cab Franc with the Italian Sangiovese, but given our blind tasters’ reactions, maybe the folks at Waterbrook are on to something. The wine seems to have picked up the best characteristics of its grapes while avoiding their defects, leading to a complex, completely enjoyable end product.

Nose Our blind tasters found the nose pleasantly restrained, with a woody smell.

Mouth It’s savory, with black fruit, mineral, and some nice chewiness.
