It’s a Bordeaux blend (Cabernet and Merlot) with the extra layers of fruit you’d expect in a New World wine. But the healthy tannins and acid create impressive balance, and you don’t have to be a fan of the New World style to enjoy this impressive effort.

Nose There’s plenty of red and black fruit here, but it’s surprisingly restrained, all things considered.

Mouth More dark fruit, and one blind taster picked up a hint of chocolate. It’s definitely tannic, so be prepared with a juicy steak.
