Overview Michelob drinkers comprise the most sophisticated segment that Anheuser-Busch has ever tried to appeal to. Many current offerings are “ultra-light”, like Michelob Ultra and Michelob Ultra Light, but Michelob makes more traditional styles and some ales, as well, with AmberBock being the most widely available of these.

Flavors and aromas Pale lager fans have little to fear here; while AmberBock is darker than most of its sibling beers, it’s through a very small addition of black patent malt that contributes almost no flavor. There’s a wee hint of caramel, but mostly this is a clean, fresh lager, with very low hop character. Our panel, while not unanimous, generally liked it.
