Overview When was the last time you had a good Bulgarian Cab? We definitely don’t spend much time drinking Bulgarian wine, so we were pleasantly surprised when the brown bag came off this bottle. Fans of juicy New World Cabs might be shocked, though: this wine is a perfect example of what the wine world calls “green” flavors. That is, it’s reminiscent of cabbage, asparagus, herbs, grass—take your pick. And while that may not be for everyone, it’s certainly worth giving a try.

Nose It reminded our blind tasters of green peppers, mulch, and fresh herbs. One taster commented that it seemed to jump out of the glass.

Mouth There are more herbal flavors here, with an impressive level of balance.
