Overview According to Big Sky, the name “Moose Drool” was actually inspired by the illustration that appears on the label. Apparently all of the early brews were named in the same way, starting with a painted illustration of local wildlife.

Flavors and aromas Moose Drool seems a bit self-contradictory. There are pronounced dark notes here—in particular, loads of dark roast/coffee flavors, but the light malt and low alcohol just don’t manage to stand up to them, and the end result was described—repeatedly, and over multiple tastings—as “watery.” There’s also a hint of sourness in the finish, likely from the roast grains. In order to make this low-alcohol style work, the malt backbone has to be in place, and Moose Drool doesn’t quite have it.
