Overview San Lorenzo is the patron saint of
librarians, roasters, and butchers. He
suffered one of the most distinctive
martyrdoms in history: he is said to
have been martyred on a gridiron
(grill) as part of Valerian’s
persecution. During his barbecue, he
cried out “This side’s done, turn me
over and have a bite.” Not only does
that explain the whole butcher/
roaster thing, it makes him a clear
ancestor of the James Bonds and
Bruce Willises of the world. None of
which says much about the wine,
but come on, how could we pass up
that story?
Nose Classic Chianti aromas of
crushed red berries, forest floor,
earth, and herbs abound.
Mouth Savory in flavor and sleek
and slightly acidic in feel, this wine is
an ideal accompaniment to
tomato-heavy Italian food.
