Overview One of a few Chiantis to make this year’s Wine Trials, this wine fits
perfectly into the Chianti mold. It has a distinctive aroma of animals
and manure that is euphemistically labeled “barnyard,” but enough
red fruit to please most New World drinkers. Drinking it, we can’t
help but think of little farmhouses in Tuscany and plates piled high
with freshly made pasta.
Nose Red fruit, dried herbs, barnyard, a little spice.
Mouth Our blind tasters appreciated the continuing fruit, as well as
the hint of leather and the lean acidity that will help it pair with
tomato dishes.
