Overview For most of the last century, Huyghe produced pilsner-style beers. Only in the 1980s did they switch to big, essentially Belgian brews. Delerium Tremens was launched in late 1989, and it has garnered fame for its unmistakable pink elephant logo, its intense flavor profile, and its sky-high alcohol level.

Flavors and aromas Everyone seemed to find something a little different, but all agreed that it was a tasty, complex beer. The nose shows big yeast and spice character, with some pear and bitter orange. In the mouth, there’s lightly fruity sweetness and tangy tart notes, followed by a dry and slightly bitter finish. The complexity makes this a nice beer for slow, lingering drinking.
