Overview We love Unibroue’s Québécois take on Belgian Abbey ales, particularly given that they’re often half the price of the real thing. Le Fin Du Monde is as good a place to start with their lineup as any.

Flavors and aromas If you feel that we’ve done a poor job of explaining what “ester” flavors are, don’t sweat it. Just find a bottle of Le Fin du Monde, chill it to about 50°F, and carefully pour yourself a glass. The beautiful dancing aromas of bananas, strawberry, and pear—the byproduct of Unibroue’s particular house yeast—let you know immediately that this is not the pale, golden beer you grew up with. This is a textbook Belgian Tripel, although it’s sweeter than some of the original Trappist versions of the style.
