Overview Maudite (“the Damned”) was the second Unibroue beer produced. It pitches itself as one of the strongest beers in the world. We don’t know how many people drink it for that reason, but we found more than just the alcohol.
Flavors and aromas Big mixed fruity esters are the primary notes here with some spiciness as well. This isn’t nearly as dark as the color suggests, but it’s very well balanced and less sweet than Fin du Monde or Don de Dieu. One taster not generally crazy about Belgians demanded a plate of mussels and fries to go with this, declaring this beer “crisp, classic, and perfect.” We didn’t all hold it at that level, but clearly Unibroue is on to something here.
