Vintage tasted 2009 Grapes Sauvignon Blanc

Overview The Chilean Araucano brand is overseen by the French François Lurton, and this Sauvignon Blanc certainly bears his Old World mark. It’s not as easily accessible as many New Zealand Sauv Blancs (it has vegetal, cabbage-y aromas rather than bright tropical fruit flavors), but if you’re a true fan of the grape you’ll love this wine.

Nose There’s a powerful cabbage aroma, along with green apples and a whiff of that characteristic Sauv Blanc smell often compared to cat pee. Yum.

Mouth It definitely has an Old World vibe, with cooked green vegetables and a sort of chalkiness as the signature flavors.
