Overview For the second year in a row, our blind tasters went crazy for this subtle, idiosyncratic wine. The winemakers at Campo Viejo have clearly resisted the trend for syrupy fruit bombs; instead, they concentrate on making balanced, food-friendly wine with some earthy character. We recommend that anyone who’s never had a distinctly Old World wine try it—the flavors may not sound like something you’d want to taste, but we think you’ll enjoy the experience.

Nose Dark, earthy aromas include underbrush, barnyard, and sour cherries.

Mouth The flavors of tea leaves, sour cherries, dirt, and smoke prompted one taster to call it “beautiful!”.
