Café Ori serves some of the best quick-and-cheap Hong Kong-style Chinese food on the Eastside. The menu is so extensive that you could use it as a lesson plan if you’re trying to learn Cantonese. Though not necessarily side-trip-worthy, Café Ori is a favorite among Eastsiders for lunch and takeout.
The portions are huge, and the food is cheap and savory. Hainanese chicken rice, the beef brisket curry, and the Taiwanese pork chop rice are standouts. Bubble teas are very popular, too. Lots of Chinese folks eat here, which isn’t surprising considering how many Chinese people live in Bellevue, but it’s still a pretty good sign.
The “café” in the name is a bit misleading—it’s a typical characterless eatery in a strip mall. But it’s less dingy than some of the I.D. joints, and service is fast and friendly.
