Yeah, it’s a chain. Yeah, the choice of locations is between Edmonds next to a Ranch 99 grocery store or in a Lynnwood H Mart food court. But BCD’s Korean snacks are consistently well made, inexpensive, quick, and tasty. Nothing fancy, nothing high-end, but filling and fun.
What more can one ask from a bowl of soft tofu soup? It comes bubblingly hot to the table, along with a bounty of banchan, including a whole fried fish. Soups come with safe choices of beef or pork, or with an upgrade of ox intestines. The soups are definitely the best thing on the menu, but BCD also serves teriyaki, barbecue ribs, and bi bim bap.
Even though the Edmonds location feels much more like a real restaurant, if you have a choice, go to the North Seattle H Mart branch. H Mart is an excellent chain of Korean grocery stores, of which there aren’t many in Washington State. Although it’s counter-service-only in North Seattle, this is one fast-food joint where it’s actually fun to watch the cooks at work while you wait for your order, half-obscured as they are by the steam rising out of the tofu bowls.
