Bear Republic XP Pale Ale
Bear Republic XP Pale Ale

Family Pale Ale Style American Pale Ale
Country USA (CA) ABV 5.4%
Price $$$$ Packaging 12oz/355ml, 22oz/650ml bottle
Characteristics Hoppy, refreshing

Overview “Exceptional Pale” is what the XP stands for, and it certainly stands out in the Bear Republic lineup of powerful, hoppy ales. A relative lightweight at 5.4% ABV, this might be the only Bear Republic beer that you want to drink more than one of.

Flavors and aromas A perfume of fruit blossoms, grapefruit, and honey manages to be airy, light, and intense at the same time. The palate has blossomy hop flavors, mild smooth malt, and balanced bitterness in a light-bodied package. This is a relaxed pale ale in a similar style to Widmer’s Drifter, ideal for lazy spring and summer afternoons. The XP is a significant departure from Bear Republic’s other offerings; it seems as effortless as the others are powerful.
