Overview The folks at Beringer outdid themselves here…literally. In the initial Wine Trials, this $11 wine outscored their own $120 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet. And the fact that this wine has been approved by our blind tasters every year since then just proves that its quality is no fluke. So hold on to your Benjamins—after all, he really was more of a beer guy.

Nose It’s quite fruity (though not overripe), with inviting aromas of blackberry. There’s also a smoky, meaty note to add complexity.

Mouth It’s elegant and smooth, with flavors of fresh berries, dried fruit, mint, and smoke. No wonder it seems expensive.
