Overview These guys have some great slogans. Their official word on this Cab is that “this is the opposite of a critter wine, this is a wine to drink with critters.” Maybe it’s just marketing savvy and they’ve only latched on to the backlash against over-oaked, over-cute critter wines, but either way we like their sense of humor. And the wine’s not bad either. It’s as bold and brash as their attitude, with plenty of New World punch but without the worst excesses of the critter epidemic.

Nose The combination of berries and a smoky, burnt aroma led one taster to compare this wine to “scorched red fruit.” Another taster was reminded of barbecue.

Mouth Smoke, red fruit, and chocolate form a big New World flavor profile.
