Grapes Sauvignon Blanc
Website www.sanpedro.clOverview The Southern Hemisphere’s 35th
parallel isn’t a bad place to grow
grapes, especially, it seems,
Sauvignon Blanc: this wine has been
a Wine Trialsselection three years
running. It possesses that “cat pee”
smell that so characterizes the grape.
It’s a repulsive image, but the
description works; otherwise, we
can’t think of a better way to
describe the aromas than, “uh,
smells like Sauvignon Blanc.” We’ve
heard it described as boxwood bud,
but since we’re not sure what that is,
we’ll have to stick with cat pee.
Nose It’s incredibly green, with
aromas of vegetables and grass.
Mouth Bracingly acidic and
vegetal—one blind taster said it
tasted like drinking pickle juice.
