Overview Typically Blanc de Blancs means that a sparkling wine is composed entirely of Chardonnay (as opposed to the blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier that makes up most Champagne), but J.P. Chenet intends the term literally: this is a white sparkling wine made up of a “blend of white grapes.” What the makers are putting in is clearly working, as our blind tasters loved this effort. It’s crisp, with loads of the intense acidity that can turn an ordinary sparkler into a refreshing summer delight.

Nose It’s light, with faint floral aromas and a smell one blind taster compared to apple pie.

Mouth Some of our tasters thought they detected initial sweetness, but it was quickly washed away by the acidity.
