Overview When it was introduced in 2008, Budweiser American Ale raised some eyebrows for its upmarket positioning. But it’s been a relatively quiet presence since, with Bud Light Lime and Michelob Ultra representing the flashy, ad-driven side of Anheuser-Busch.

Flavors and aromas Light crystal malt, clean bread, and fresh citrus notes compose the nose. There’s a bit of sweet malt, balanced with a bit of bitterness, and the hop character in the mouth is low. This is a very low-intensity take on an amber ale, sort of My-First-Amber, but it has no rough edges or off-flavors, and it’s decently refreshing, if a little bland.
