Overview Montreal’s Molson is the oldest brewery in North America, founded in 1786. Flagship brand Molson Canadian has tried to define itself as the quintessential Canadian beer, and in 2009, Molson family members bought the Montreal Canadiens hockey team.

Flavors and aromas The nose is light and airy, with mild hops and clean pilsner malt. The flavor is sweet, with pleasant corn flavors, bright carbonation, and low hop character. The finish is lightly floral and dry, and the whole thing is fresh and bright. There are no evident flaws here, and Molson Canadian might be the best domestic-style lager we tasted. It’s all about light, sweet malt and carbon dioxide lift, and nothing in this beer intrudes.
